A-Z LEARNING BOARD

The A-Z Learning Board targets specific core concepts each week that highlight letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. 

• Letter of the Week: Displays uppercase and lowercase letters accompanied by matching beginning-sound pictures (e.g., A is for alligator, airplane, and acorn).  

• Number of the Week: Displays the number, the number word, and a ten frame(s) filled with corresponding dots to build early number sense and subitizing skills.

• Shape of the Week: Displays a geometric shape alongside everyday real-world objects (e.g., clock, tire, and donut for circle-shaped objects).

• Color of the Week: Displays a specific color alongside everyday real-world objects (e.g., tomato, fire hydrant, and apple for red objects).

Core Concepts Covered:

• Letters (A-Z)

• Numbers (1-26)

• Shapes (14 shapes: circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, diamond, pentagon, hexagon, star, octagon, heart, trapezoid, crescent, semicircle)

• Colors (11 colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, brown, gray, white

Key Characteristics:

• It is portable and reusable

• It is screen-free

• It keeps little ones engaged for short stretches of time

• It helps you bond more with your child(ren)

How to go over the A-Z Learning Board:

Each page will focus on one letter, one number, one shape, and one color. There is also an empty box at the top of each page for you to write your child's name. 

Each day of the week we focus on one page and switch it out every Monday.

• Name: Name recognition and name spelling

• Letter: Letter recognition, uppercase and lowercase, letter sounds, and things that begin with that letter

• Number: Number recognition and counting to and from that number using the ten frames 

• Shape: Shape recognition, counting the sides in the shape, and things that are that shape

• Color: Color recognition and things that are that color

How It Works:

• Purchase PDF, download, and then print sheets (print on 8.5" x 11" sheet paper, one-sided).

• Place printed sheets in a Dry-Erase Pocket Sleeve.
